With summer on its way, it’s time to refresh our makeup with the soft bronze tones out for this season. An easy way to achieve that “just back from St. Barts look”, use bronzer by gently sweeping over apples of cheeks, on forehead above each brow, bridge to tip of nose and chin which captures the points that the sun naturally tans us.
There are a great variety of bronzers available, from the more popular powder to oil free cream stick, or liquid. The cream sticks can be applied with fingers or foundation brush, should you opt to use the more sheer form of a liquid, use a foundation brush to distribute the product evenly on skin. Complete the sun kissed look using a pop of pink blush on the apple of cheek. Eyes glow by sweeping a pink or peach bronze shadow across the lid and into crease.
You can intensify this look by adding a deeper bronze shade in crease of eye, or adding a pop of color such as a sheer purple or khaki on outer corner of lid into crease. Line the eyes with an espresso pencil, starting from the outer corner of upper lid using small etching strokes and working in toward inner lid. This technique achieves a lifted, open eye and prevents you from drawing the liner downward. Smudge the lower lid with a softer brown pencil, then smudge your accent color of khaki , bronze or sheer purple over it, think that Jessica Alba bronzed eye, with an option to add a slight lift of color. Finally, enhance lips with the sexy golden pink or peach shades, and top off with a sheer complimentary gloss.
