This past Friday famed and used to be significant rapper DMX was arrested for the 79,000th time. This time he was attempting to purchase; get this, $45 worth of cocaine and weed. I’m not at all an advocate for hard drug use but if I were a celebrity and I was supposed to have money I’d at least get popped trying to buy a little more blow or something.

I mean $45 worth of cocaine and weed is something I can afford and lord knows that I haven’t sold over 14 million records or starred in several successful movies over the past decade. Read the rest of this entry »

Either the economy is all the way jacked up or some people with mounds of money are just as stupid as dry dog shit. As you may have heard by now mega producer Scott Storch has had some not so minor money issues over the past year or so.

Wait, let’s rewind for a second. I want to remind you of the work that he’s done up to this point. Over the last ten years this guy has worked with a just a few people you may have heard of. Some of those people include Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Mariah Carey, Raven Symone, Jadakiss, Daddy Yankee, Eminem, Christina Aguilera, Nas, Lil Wayne, Nelly, Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, 50 Cent, Beyoncé, Brooke Hogan, The Game, Chamillionaire, Kelly Rowland, Teairra Mari, and Chris Brown just to name a few.

The rumors are abounding about how actor, rapper– and some say gangster– Fifty Cent a.k.a Curtis Jackson or Fiddy, 31 settled a score with his baby moma, Shaniqua Tompkins, 32 by having his $2.4 million Dix Hills, Long Island, mansion burned to the ground this past Friday. Although Fiddy purchased the six bedroom, 5,200 square foot palatial estate last January, 2007, it was being occupied by Tompkins along with her sister, her daughter, her aunt, her cousin, her current boyfriend, and the former couple’s 10 year old child, Marquise. Since the incident, accusations against Fifty have been flying fast and furious.

Under ordinary circumstances, this fire might just have been attributable to a burning cigarette butt or an overzealous chef, but the five gallon gasoline drum found inside the home after the fire along with the history of discord between the estranged couple seems to suggest otherwise. Add to this, the intensity of the blaze and the fact that the house burned down in less than 45 minutes, and it seems pretty obvious that the ‘overzealous cook’ or ‘cigarette butt’ theory just doesn’t hold water. The versatile superstar Alec Baldwin, 50, whose talent is evident whether acting on the silver screen, television screen, or on Broadway, is contemplating elective office.

Upon first hearing this news, I wondered why a wealthy, handsome, and charismatic free spirit like Baldwin would even contemplate subjecting himself to the scrutiny, ridicule, scorn, and utter humiliation that comes with seeking high office. But after further reflection, it makes perfect sense.

Today’s hot news seems to center around the ever so famous R. Kelly trial. The most publicized and non-tried case in the history of America seems like it’s finally about to take place.

Back when I was still in high school some washed up singer decided to accuse R. Kelly of banging some 14 year old chick. Of course no one could really fake it like he didn’t do it. I mean he did have the whole “Aaliyah situation” a few years prior, plus as my fellow football teammates and I watched “the tape” about a million times we all confirmed that it definitely could’ve been him.

My only point of disgust is the amount of time it’s taken to actually get this thing rolling. The dude has had enough time to make like four more hit albums, that damn Trapped in the Closet series, and that song about flirting or something like that. Read the rest of this entry »
